Guilin Zizhu Latex Co., Ltd., originally founded as Guilin Latex Factory in 1966 under the Ministry of the Chemical Industry, has long been a cornerstone of China’s state-owned latex sector. Designated by the former National Planning Commission as an official condom manufacturer, it became the first Chinese supplier contracted by the United Nations Population Fund . In 2012, the enterprise transitioned from state ownership to become Guilin Zizhu Latex Products Co., Ltd., under China Resources Zizhu Pharmaceutical (now part of China Resources Group) (geamaycondom.com).

Specializing in both condoms and medical latex gloves, the company produces units of the “Gobon” brand—including condoms, disposable sterile surgical gloves, and examination gloves—with substantial output. Before the handover in 2022, its annual revenue approached 320 million CNY, with net profit around 50 million CNY; surgical gloves accounted for about 55% of sales, and roughly 90% of revenue came from domestic hospitals and pharmacies

In June 2022, Winner Medical (Steady Medical) acquired the company for about 450 million CNY (≈US $67 million), integrating it into its broader portfolio of medical consumables to enhance synergy and capacity expansion.
