Air Burst Test: Condoms are inflated like balloons; a standard condom must hold around 18–22 liters of air before bursting.2
Water Leak Test: Samples are filled with water and suspended to check for microscopic leaks or seepage.3
Tensile Test: Strips of the material are stretched to confirm they meet specific breaking-force requirements.
Unlike the destructive tests above, every single condom produced is individually tested. They are placed on a charged metal mandrel and passed through an electric field. Since rubber is an insulator, any flow of current indicates a pinhole or thin spot, causing the machine to automatically reject that specific unit.
Once passed, condoms are lubricated and sealed in foil. QC then performs a Package Integrity Test, often using a vacuum chamber to ensure the seals are airtight and the product won’t dry out.
